Final preparations are being made for one of the gala events of the year in Wigtownshire.

The annual Wigtown Festival Company Dinner and Charity Auction will be held at the County Building this Saturday 6th May.

The event is vital to help support the fantastic year round programme now organised by the Festival Company which helps to inspire people of all ages around Dumfries and Galloway. They include a 10 day festival, a dedicated programme for young people, a schools and children’s programme, the promotion of literature development, cultural tourism for Wigtown and investment in training for staff and more than 100 volunteers.

The Company has received wonderful donations for the Auction and raffle including 4 Ball Golf at Turnburry, Afternoon Tea in beautiful gardens, stunning artwork, short breaks in Edinburgh flats, a signed first edition children’s books and a story telling session via Skype.

You can join in the fun even if you can’t be there to see the entertaining Wyllie McCulloch as auctioneer. You can take part through the draft auction catalogue which is available to download HERE and your highest bid for a lot can be sent to claire@wigtownbookfestival.com before 4pm on Saturday evening, bidding on the evening will then be done on your behalf.
