A beautiful bronze statue of a sleeping baby in a Stranraer cemetery has been dedicated to mums and families who have lost a baby or child in birth or infancy.

Alison Hall and Susan Dalgleish, of the region’s branch of SANDS – the stillbirth and neonatal death charity – officially revealed the statue at a special ceremony at Glebe Cemetery.

A carved bench also gives families somewhere to sit for a quiet moment of reflection.
