A Spring Exhibition at Unit Three Gallery is bringing together varied aspects of contemporary art.

Vibrant abstract colour sits neatly with strong pop art and vivid graphic design in Bladnoch.

Caroline Smith is a graphic artist and is showing work from her latest collection of Scandi style graphic prints with powerful geometric design and bold colour. Robert McCubbin produces collage and sculptural pieces and works with everyday materials in an inventive and thoughtful way.

Kev Witt has an ethereal approach to photo manipulation that leaves the viewer questioning the very image they are viewing.

Madonna by Vik Quickly and, above, Red Shift by Deb McMurray.

Vik Quickly has worked in sculpture and costume but for our exhibition she has produced a series in acrylic entitled “Women in Music”, strong images of determined women from the music industry. Vik is also showing works reflecting her love of nature and pop culture.

Heather Claughan is studying in Aberdeen and has produced a series of pen and ink drawings for this exhibition which have a sympathy and atmosphere that will settle your soul.

Dave Oldham has a varied and interesting background in graphic design and has discovered a love of nature since moving to Wigtownshire which is reflected in his photographic work.
Originally from Norway, Julie Ridola works in acrylic and oil and draws on the essence of nature for her inspirational abstracts.

Unit Three Gallery has a welcoming and informal atmosphere and will be open from Wed – Fri each week from 10 – 4 and Saturdays from 12 – 4. Other viewings can be arranged by appointment. Entry is free, come along and grab the opportunity to view and buy original art work.
